Journée de francophonie yukonnaise

Let's celebrate together!

Since 2007, the Yukon government has proclaimed May 15th Yukon Francophonie Day! As a great opportunity to celebrate the history and vitality of Franco-Yukoners.

This official day reminds us that:
- Francophones have explored the Yukon, settled there and contributed to its development for nearly 200 years;
- Francophones enrich the Yukon culturally, economically and socially;
- French is one of Canada's two official languages and an integral part of the country's cultural, historical and linguistic life.

The Yukon Francophonie Day allows all Yukoners to appreciate and to celebrate the French language and Francophone culture that are present in the territory.
