The Rimouski Book Fair

The Rimouski Book Fair is the oldest event of its kind in Quebec and actively contributes to the pride and cultural identity of the region. Created in 1964 by a group of women passionate about literature, its purpose was to give young people better access to books. Today, the organization's primary mandate is to promote, through various literary activities, books and reading throughout the Bas-Saint-Laurent region.

The Rimouski Book Fair remains the organization's main event. Year after year, this unifying event allows the public to meet more than 200 authors from here and elsewhere, and to be offered books from more than 300 publishing houses in more than 110 stands. The animation program, the unique maritime component and the various activities on offer attract more than 14,000 visitors.
