House of Parliament
Take your students to visit the heart of Canadian democracy at Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Parliament welcomes school groups for guided tours of the Centre Block (reservations required).
Canada’s Parliament is a vibrant example of democracy in action. In Parliament, our representatives examine the top issues of the day, decide on policies, and laws, that affect every Canadian. The Library of Parliament offers numerous resources and programs for students to learn about Canada’s democratic process, both in the classroom and while visiting the National Capital Region. The curriculum-based tours for students in kindergarten to Grade 6 are designed to introduce students to Canada’s Parliament using props and role-play. All tours can be tailored to reflect the grade level and knowledge of visiting students. Give your students the opportunity to experience what they learn in class.
All programs are offered in English or French, and will meet all your grade and curriculum requirements.
