French on Fridays!

Canadian Parents for French – Nova Scotia is launching an exciting program called French on Fridays! The goal of French on Fridays is to create and nurture a school culture that includes and supports the goals of the French second language programs. To help schools rise to the challenge of using more French in and out of the classroom on Fridays, CPF Nova Scotia has created some fun and informative materials for students, staff and parents!

For staff and administrators, there is our IN SCHOOL brochure packed with ideas and tips for activities to include on Fridays. Our IN THE CLASSROOM brochure has information on the benefits of French and fun French facts for teachers.

The AT HOME brochure is for students to take home and share with their parents. Parents are part of a student’s learning environment. This brochure has activities and tips for parents to be involved in their child’s language learning path. This brochure is helpful for students in core French or the immersion program.

All the information in the brochures and more is found in the TIPS, TOOLS & RESOURCES booklet. This handy booklet has information on French second languages in our province, lists of internet sites, and educational partners. There is also a POSTER for placing around the school and in the classrooms to get students involved.

For copies of these resources, please contact our branch office.
