Canada Day-July
Free admission! Celebrate Canada’s birthday with cake, flag raising and family fun. Step back in time for an old-fashioned country celebration including live entertainment.
Historic Places Day- July
Free admission! Stop in and celebrate Canada’s cultural treasures within Parks Canada. Experience horse-drawn haying. There is always something old, new and fun to discover at the ranch!
Trail Ride-August
Friends of the Bar U Historic Ranch Association host their annual day ride across original Bar U lands. Ride your own horse or step up on a horse-drawn wagon.
Old Time Ranch Rodeo-August
Time-honoured and traditional skills of ranching come to the rodeo arena. Cheer on your favourite ranch as teams of working cowboys compete for silver Bar U buckles and bragging rights! You’ll be entertained with events such as broke horse racing, wild cow milking, team sorting as well as branding and doctoring.

School programs:
For schools, the ranch offers Ranching-focused school programs in 30-minute segments. Programs are comprised of hands-on activities, demonstrations, interactive talks, sensory experiences and environmental hikes.
Bar U Ranch school programming demonstrates a broad range of educational themes integrating historical, cultural, social, political, environmental and economic themes.
Experience the variety of methods practiced to maintain self-sufficiency. Featured is the cookhouse, garden, root cellar and storage sheds.
